The living room

You walk into a high, bright room with a rough-hewn log across the ceiling and a log post holding up the corner. There is a sofa, two cow-print armchairs, and a rug on soft gray carpet. It works as a waiting area, a place to sit down with a client, or somewhere to take a break from your desk.

The office doors line up along the far wall, each framed in black.

Your own office

The offices are small and all about the same size: enough for a desk, a chair, and a bit of your own things. Each has a door that closes and a tall window with blinds for daylight. The two shown here come with a desk and chair, and one has a bench along the wall.

Rent starts at $800 a month with utilities included. See the pricing, and ask which offices are open.

The conference room

When you need more room than your office has, the conference room has a long oak table with a row of chairs down each side, a wall-mounted TV against a deep red wall, and a big whiteboard on the other. A printer sits on the teal dresser by the door.

It is the room for a client meeting, a presentation, or a call you want a screen for.

The kitchen

A full kitchen: white shaker cabinets, granite counters, a stainless refrigerator, range, and dishwasher, and a microwave over the stove. There is a coffee-syrup station by the sink.

Who an office like this suits

Quiet one-person work: a desk, a chair, a door that closes, and room for a few of your things. When you need more space, the living room and the conference room are there to use.

  • Accountants, bookkeepers, and agents

A professional address, a place to sit down with clients at tax time, and somewhere for files that isn't the dining room.

  • Remote employees

If your company is in Grand Rapids or out of state, you can keep a real office close to home instead of a desk in the corner of the bedroom.

  • Trades and field businesses

A quiet room for estimates, scheduling, and paperwork, away from the shop and the kitchen table. Bring a laptop, or a desktop and a file box.

Where three highways meet

Howard City sits where US-131 meets M-46 and M-82, so ten towns across four counties are within 21 miles. Pierson and Morley are about ten minutes away, and Grand Rapids is 35 miles south on the freeway.

It's a village of about 1,800 people, so there's no downtown traffic or parking ramp between you and the office.

Common questions

Rent, lease length, clients, and the drive.

All questions and answers

How much is rent?

two-year agreement is $800 a month, one-year agreement is $900 a month, and month to month is $1000 a month, with all utilities included. See pricing.

Can I meet clients in my office?

Seeing clients somewhere other than your kitchen table is one of the main reasons people rent an office. The offices are small, so most people meet clients in the living room or book the conference room. Tell us roughly how many visitors you expect in a week and we will walk you through it.

How far is it from Grand Rapids?

About 35 miles north on US-131, roughly 40 to 45 minutes in normal traffic. For the drive from other towns, see the location page or the commuting guide.

Is this a coworking space?

No. Each office is a separate room with its own door, off a shared living room. If you are weighing a private office against a desk in a shared space or a spare room at home, the guide private office vs. home office compares them.

How do I see an office?

request a tour. Tell us how many people will use the office and when you'd like to move in, and we'll set a time.

Come see it

Walk the office, check the parking and the drive at the hour you would really arrive, and ask anything about the lease.
